Since switching to just using Chrome for viewing, I've had zero inclinations to even try anything else (unlike the past with all the other crappy viewers that were always tempting me to find something better). And something powerful for editing (typically slower due to all the features).ī) Use the same program, and compromise on absolute everything else aside from not having to use a 2nd program occasionally for editing. the choice pretty much comes down to:Ī) Use a program that's fast + ergonomic for viewing. Quite similar to dealing with image, audio & video file software. So I think it makes sense to use separate programs for viewing + editing. but usually PDF software that can edit (with decent features) is slow anyway. Just feels way more ergonomic, given how much we use our browser every day, and being used to that. When the build is done the resulting SumatraPDF.exe should be in the solution folder 'outdbg64'. Right-click the 'SumatraPDF' project in the Solution Explorer and choose Rebuild. Select the 'SumatraPDF' project in the Solution Explorer. you can rename/delete them without closing the window.Īnd it's nice having that all the keyboard shortcuts/features etc exactly the same as with browsing the web. Select 'Debug' for the Solution Configuration and '圆4' for the Solution Platform. It doesn't lock files that you're just viewing. It's fast to open, especially given it's usually always running anyway. I replaced my other default PDF viewers with Chrome years ago, and much prefer it for viewing over anything else I ever used in the past on any of windows/mac/linux.
